Our food is made without preservatives and shipped cold — here's everything you need to know about how we get it safely to your pup.

Our Freshness Commitment

Because our food is made without artificial preservatives and must remain chilled, we do not accept returns. Every meal leaves our Clovis kitchen the same day it's cooked — and we go to great lengths to make sure it arrives at your door cold, safe, and ready for your pup.

Safe Temperature Guarantee

If your order arrives damaged or at an unsafe temperature (above 40°F / 4°C), please email us a photo of the product and the shipping label within 5 hours of delivery. We'll make it right immediately — no questions asked.

Send within 5 hours of delivery

Due to the perishable nature of fresh food, we require reports within 5 hours of the carrier marking your package delivered.

If we can't verify your food arrived safely, we will resend your order or issue a full refund — your choice. Korra wouldn't have it any other way.

Shipping Schedule

To ensure your pup's food doesn't spend the weekend sitting in a warehouse or carrier truck, we only ship orders Monday through Wednesday. This guarantees your fresh food stays chilled throughout transit and doesn't sit unrefrigerated over a weekend.

Wednesday 12:00 PM PST Cutoff

Orders placed after Wednesday at 12:00 PM PST will ship the following Monday. This protects the quality of your food — we'd rather wait than risk it.

For orders under $60, a flat $7.99 shipping fee applies. All orders include insulated packaging and ice packs at no extra charge.

All Subscribe & Save plans include priority free shipping on every delivery — regardless of order size. It's one of the many perks of being part of the pack.

Cold-Chain Packaging

Every Harvest Hounds order ships in an insulated box lined with recycled wool and packed with non-toxic gel ice packs sized to your order. Our packaging is designed to keep food at or below 40°F for up to 48 hours in transit.

Order Tracking

Once your order ships, you'll receive a shipping confirmation email with a tracking number. You can track your package directly through the carrier's website or from your account dashboard.

Delivery Day Tip

If you won't be home on delivery day, ask a neighbor to grab the box or leave a cooler outside. Fresh food left on a hot porch for more than a few hours can exceed safe temperature thresholds.

Damaged or Warm Orders

If food arrives above 40°F or is visibly damaged:

Do not feed it to your dog. Email us at Amy@TheHarvestDog.com within 5 hours of delivery with a photo of the product and shipping label. We will resend your order or issue a full refund right away.

We take every temperature complaint seriously. If there's a pattern with a particular carrier route or delivery area, we want to know so we can fix it. Your feedback directly helps every dog in the pack.

Returns Policy

Because our food is made without artificial preservatives and must remain chilled, we do not accept returns. Once fresh food leaves our kitchen, we cannot resell it or verify its safety for another dog.

However, your satisfaction is our absolute priority. If you're unhappy with your order for any reason — your dog didn't love a recipe, you received the wrong product, or anything else — just reach out and we'll make it right:
